Subzero

Biography:

Subzero are an American hardcore – punkmetal band from New York who formed in 1989. Despite a period of inactivity in the late 1990s due to singer, Lou Di Bella’s bout with a rare form of cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia)…Subzero are one of the longest active bands in the New York hardcore, punk & metal scenes. The band has toured the world many times over as headliners and as a support group under national acts as well. They’ve shared the stages with an array of prominent acts such as SLAYER, HATEBREED, MEGADETH, MOTORHEAD, MISFITS, SICK OF IT ALL, EXODUS, RANCID, CRO MAGS, DRI, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, NAPALM DEATH, IRON MAIDEN, CANNIBAL CORPSE, EMINEM and many more. They’ve played all the major festivals in Europe, headlined every major club in Japan and were IN FACT one of the FIRST 5 American hardcore bands to ever tour Japan and play to sold out audiences which helped open the gates for the bands to come. Subzero retains their underground ethics and respect for where they came from by also playing in filthy, small clubs, basements and dive bars to this day. The most influential critics had nothing but praise for them.

American hardcore giants HATEBREED as well as Cali hardcore heavyweights TERROR have BOTH covered SUBZERO’s original song “BOXED IN” on previous tribute albums.
